World Water Day 2021 Spotlight - Gerard Howe, Scottish Government

Gerard is currently the lead and Deputy Director for the Scottish Government on COP26 and International Climate Change, working within the Directorate for Energy and Climate Change. Prior to joining the Scottish Government in January 2021, Gerard led FCDO’s development work on the United Nations and the Commonwealth and set up an independent consultancy, The Climate Inclusion Partnership, advising on links between climate change and inclusion. Gerard worked for the Department for International Development (DFID) for twenty tears, leading DFID’s Inclusive Societies Department to focus on gender equality disability inclusion, civil society, preventing violence against women and girls and social protection and working in a range of headquarter posts and country offices, including in Indonesia, India, Rwanda and Tanzania.
