World Water Day, observed annually on March 22 since 1993, is a United Nations initiative that highlights the critical importance of freshwater and advocates for sustainable management of water resources. Each year, UN-Water selects a theme to address specific water-related challenges. In 2025, the theme is "Glacier Preservation," focusing on the vital role glaciers play in Earth's water systems and the urgent need to protect them amidst climate change.
